¿Qué significa que baje la alerta del Volcán Nevado del Ruiz de Naranja a Amarilla?
El Servicio Geológico Colombiano (SGC) reportó que el Volcán Nevado del Ruiz pasó de alerta amarilla a naranja.
"Durante las últimas semanas, la actividad del volcán ha presentado una disminución paulatina en varios de los parámetros monitoreados, luego del incremento registrado que conllevó al cambio de nivel de Amarillo a Naranja el pasado 30 de marzo" expresó el SGC en un comunicado.
Según la Unidad Nacional para la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres (UNGRD), a pesar de que el nivel de alertó bajó, se debe mantener preparados ante cualquier cambio que presente el volcán.
“Este cambio de nivel significa que hay un peligro bajo o moderado para la población que vive en la zona de influencia del volcán, por lo que, pese a que pasamos de naranja a amarillo, y ya no hay un riesgo inminente de erupción en cuestión de días o semanas, debemos estar preparados”, aseguró Olmedo López, director general de la UNGRD.
Si bien la actividad sísmica y la emisión de cenizas desaceleró, esto no significa que no haya riesgo de que el volcán haga erupción. Por la UNGRD recomendó a los departamentos de Tolima, Caldas y Risaralda, mantener las medidas de control ante la posiblidad de que se presente una emergencia.
